CAT 2021 Registration – the foremost common MBA entrance examination is the Common Aptitude Test, which is conducted in over 100 top B-schools across India to supply admissions. The exam is held annually in November/December by IIMs. IIMs deliver more than 4,000 seats in different management programs based on the test ratings.
Last year about 3 lakh candidates applied for the CAT 2021 test, of whom almost 2 lakh appeared for the examination. It is going to be held this year in November 2021 and therefore the exam is going to be conducted by IIMs on a rotational basis. The last date for registration is going to be September 2021.
The application must be submitted only in the online mode. The application form can usually be completed in three simple steps. Here are some important points to bear in mind before filling out the online form:
Registration will be open for nearly 45 days from the beginning of the registration period.
When you fill out the online form, you will need to pick the appropriate management programs for all 20 IIMs.
Until filling out the form, you are expected to carefully read the instructions that appear at the start of the application.
If you fill up the application with any incorrect details, your candidacy will be regarded as invalid. In addition, it will forfeit the registration fee.
You can save and exit the registration form any amount of times before you actually submit the document, to edit and complete it later.
As per your choice, you can select 6 test cities and keep them in the preference order for the test.
Fees can only be charged after an online registration and application form have been completed.
If you do not pay the appropriate examination fee, your application form will remain incomplete and you will not be eligible to participate in the test.
The registration and application fee for the exam is Rs. 2000/- for general candidates and Rs 1000/- for candidates from SC, ST& PWD.
In addition to the items mentioned above to complete your application form, you need some documents. The following is the list of documents you will need while filling out your CAT request:
10th, 12th Class Marksheets
Bachelor’s/diploma, and if any, further education.
Certificate for work experience, if necessary.
Passport-sized photos and signature scanned images.
The scanned image of the picture size of the passport should be 35mm X 45mm and the scanned image of the signature should be 1000mm X 35 mm. Both files should be in .jpg or .jpeg format, and each should not exceed 80KB in file size. With a minimum resolution of 150px, the picture needs to be clear.
It is important to upload Relevant Certificates.
Fee payment tools for examination fees, such as debit/credit cards, net banking, etc.
Finally, it is recommended that you make a list of the IIM programs you would like to apply for.
CAT 2021 Fees for Registration
Registration fees are Rs. 2000/-. CAT registration fees and IIM application fees are included within the fee. You do not have to pay any extra sums to apply for another 20 IIMs after you have paid this amount.
The comprehensive method of registration and request is addressed as follows:
Phase 1: Registration
Go to the official website and click on ‘Register Now’ (https:/iimcat.ac.in). This will create the credentials for your username.
In the fields given, enter the acceptable information (name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number). Make sure you have entered the correct details, particularly the contact details, so that you do not have any problems obtaining test information. When filling up the fields in the registration/application form, go through the following instructions:
The name -. Name The name should be equivalent to your 10th Standard Certificate or SSC Certificate. You may need to request a legal document (court affidavit/marriage certificate) to confirm if there is a change of name due to marriage or some other cause.
Date of birth: Use the virtual calendar to enter your date of birth with caution.
Email address-The email identifier must be a valid one. This email address will obtain the CAT ID/username. Both Username and Password are sent via email to overseas applicants.
Mobile number: As the password is sent via SMS at this number, the mobile number should be a valid one. The number should be supported by India and with 10 digits. The area code should be prefixed with other telephone numbers.
Enter the captcha shown on the screen to verify and authenticate your CAT registration after filling in the information.
Via email and SMS, you will receive the login credentials. The CAT Serial Number/User ID is shipped to your email address and therefore the password is shipped to your registered mobile number via SMS.
To ensure the submission of your registration form, click the ‘I Accept’ checkbox.
Phase 2 – Access the Common Aptitude Test Website
The next move is to use the system-generated User ID & Password to log in to the official website and fill out your application form. If you forget your password, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ tab in the’ Current User’ login window and your registered email ID will receive a new password.
Until filling within the comprehensive form, keep the subsequent instructions in mind:
It is mandatory to fill in all ‘*’ designated areas.
You must fill in all the details you need and upload scanned copies of the necessary documents.
Click on Save & Continue’ before continuing to each subsequent segment.
Using the mouse instead of using the ‘Tab’ key to switch to the next sector.
The application process can be completed in several sessions by logging in to the next session. But make sure you have saved the application form fields correctly before signing in to previous sessions.
After paying the application fee, you would not be authorized to make any changes to the submitted details or documents.
Phase 3: Complete and submit the 2021 Application Form
You should start filling out the application form after logging in. The type is usually split into five sections:
Personal Info:
This includes the name, name of the father/husband/guardian, name of the mother, date of birth, the gender of the candidate, category, address of the contact, mobile number, and email address.
Information such as the caste/tribe serial number, caste/tribe state/UT, and caste/tribe name needs to be given by the applicant belonging to the SC/ST/OBC group. If the applicant may be a category of PWD, he/she has got to pick the choice ‘Yes’ and include information like the category of PWD and therefore the percentage of disability.
In addition, a scanned copy of the following documents would have to be uploaded:
